Privacy Policy

Turkish House Experience LLC (“THE”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to the website turkishhouseexperience.org (the “Site”), our social media accounts and our events.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use the contact form or email us we receive your name, email address, the city and topic you select and the content of your message. If you reserve a table or ask about a booking, we may also receive the date, party size and any details you include.

Information from ticketing platforms. Tickets are sold by third-party platforms (for example Eventbrite or Posh). Those platforms share attendee lists with us — typically your name, email address, ticket type and order number — so that we can check you in at the door and contact you about the event you bought a ticket for. Their own privacy policies govern how they handle your payment details; we never receive your full card number.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the pages you view, in server logs used for security and performance. The Site does not use advertising trackers.

Photos and video at events. Our events are photographed and filmed for promotion. See section 5 of our Terms & Conditions for the consent you give by attending.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to answer your messages and reservation requests; to run events, including check-in and guest lists; to send you information about upcoming Turkish House Experience events in your city where you have asked for it or bought a ticket (you can opt out at any time); to promote our events using photos and video; to keep the Site secure and understand how it is used; and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases (for visitors in the EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (delivering the event you bought a ticket for); our legitimate interests (running and promoting our events, keeping the Site secure); your consent (marketing messages, where required); and legal obligation.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: service providers who help us operate — our website host (Vercel), form-handling and email providers, and ticketing platforms; venues, for guest lists, security and age verification; and authorities where the law requires it. Each provider is bound to use your data only to provide its service to us.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site itself sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It loads the Manrope typeface from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address under Google’s privacy policy, and third-party ticketing or social pages you open from the Site set their own cookies. If we add analytics in the future we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

6. Marketing messages

If we email or message you about future events, every message includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can simply reply “unsubscribe”. Opting out of marketing does not affect service messages about an event you have a ticket for.

7. How long we keep your data

Contact-form messages and booking enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last exchange. Attendee lists are kept for up to three years for accounting and safety purposes. Photos and video used for promotion may be kept indefinitely unless you ask us to remove identifiable images of you. Server logs are retained by our host for a short period for security.

8. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Access to attendee data is limited to the small team that runs our events. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any right, email turkishouse@outlook.com; we will respond within the time required by law. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. Children

Our events are for adults and the Site is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers may store data in the U.S. or other countries. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. under this policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be announced on the Site.
